We've been going to Fairchild Tropical Garden, especially during quarantine, it's really an incredible escape. The landscape there may not change, but it's different every time you go. It's a great place to just explore and for the kids to run around. You feel like you have the whole place to yourself, even if there's a lot of other people there. One place we love for take out it Fratellino on Miracle Mile. It's a very small Italian restaurant, two doors down from the Playhouse. The owner is this guy Beto, you will love him. My wife grew up on Miami Beach, and Beto had a restaurant in Bay Harbor that she and her family would go to at least once a week. When we went to his new place, it was as if no time had passed. He knows everybody in there, he's a sweetheart. My wife who had a crush on him openly when she was 10, I think still has a crush on him.
Bilzin Sumberg., Duane Morris, Fairchild Tropical Garden, Fratellino, Joanna's, Madruga Bakery, Temple Judea...

Some of our favorite haunts – Green Gables Café on Alhambra. They are open for lunch and have a diversified menu. There’s never a bad dish – I usually get one of the specials. Café Vialetto – off of Bird and Le June – The chef/owner is the most endearing, loving man and makes you feel like you’re at your brother’s house. Normally we get the pasta of the day – which he makes fresh. He makes great salads. I’ll order without opening the menu just by talking with him about what I am in the mood for. Izakaya for Japanese, and Blue Collar for old fashion comfort food -they have a great veggie plate.

I love St Roch Food Hall in the Design District. I love Vietnamese noodle soup, and there's a stand with great pho and bahn mi sandwiches. And then, there's an Israeli street food place across the way from them that has this great whole roasted cauliflower with amazing dipping sauces. And then, there is another seafood place there with a fantastic mahi-mahi sandwich with shaved fennel. One of my favorites is Michael's Genuine. It's old school, but so far I haven't found anything to replace it. Michael is a really nice guy. They also have a roasted cauliflower dish with a parsley sauce that is amazing.

We love, Ghee. But, our go to is LAN. They are under Target near Dadeland. It's quick, with easy parking and my girls are vegetarians and it's easy for them to find food they love. It's easy for the rest of us too, who are not vegetarians. Ghee is good for a special occasion. I also like Seasons 52. I know it's a big chain, but it has a nice feeling. There's a middle eastern place in the Royal Palm Hotel, at the end of Lincoln road, called Byblos that transported me. We went for Miami Spice.

We've been enjoying Bonefish Grill. They've been doing great takeout deals. The baja shrimp tacos are awesome. And, Sushi Sake in the Redlands. And then on the weekends, coming to the drive through. The smoothies are so good. And you know, everybody's cooped up at home with nothing to do. Going to get a smoothie is a good outing, and you don't have to get out of the car. That's awesome.

Alex: We like Asian and Japanese in particular, Matsuri is our go to for sushi. Also, Wabi Sabi, which is a little bit more north, closer to my office, is not very well known but has great Japanese. Danielle: For Italian, I like Sapore Di Mare in Coconut grove and Kyu in Wynwood for Asian, and Mandolin for Greek.
AIPIC, Cauley Square, Chabad in the Grove, Kampong, Keez Beez, Kyu, Mandolin, ...

Le Bouchon is a French place in the Grove that we just adore that we look forward to going back to someday. In terms of Mexican food, Talavera, in Coral Gables is really outstanding and authentic Mexican food. We were so excited to discover that place.

I used to be a restaurant critic at age 19. I'm serious. I had a food blog when nobody was doing it, but that was 20 years ago. I really don't do a lot of restaurants here. If we want to go out in Weston, we go to two places. Pizza Lovers - he's Italian and makes very thin crust pizza. And there's a sushi place called KEUH. In Miami, I love Mandolin, the Greek restaurant. And, Motek, which serves Israeli food. In Little Havana there's a place called El Sanguich, for Cuban sandwiches. I love it.

Recently, we went to Golden Rule with some friends. They have a new outdoor dining area. The blackened fish tacos were great. Sushi Rock in Suniland is also a regular. We order in a lot too. Big Tomato is good. You can get a whole wheat crust and the salads are good.
