Madruga for the chicken salad sandwich, Chana for the whole fried snapper with red curry (ask for the eggplant well done), Hole in the Wall for the seared tuna on salad, Chalan on the Beach for aguadito de pescado, and Babe's Meat & Counter for their Montreal smoked meat reuben.

Anything that chef Niven Patel does. Ghee is our all-time favorite and he just opened Mamey in South Miami. Then, we go every week to Babes Meat and Counter. We just ride our bikes there. Darren toggles between the Bahn Mi and the Cuban sandwich. I toggle between the BLT and the burger and Scout always gets the BLT.

27 is one of my favorites in Miami. Their roasted cauliflower with pesto is knock your socks off delicious. The sous chef is a young Cuban American like me and he's always embracing South Florida flavors and ingredients that we have here. They actually have their own garden there. The house smoked lamb ribs with pomegranate molasses are delicious. Also, Madruga Bakery. They feel like a farm to table a bakery. They have this amazing guava and cream cheese croissant. But - Babes Meat and Counter is my number one go to spot here in South Florida. My favorite thing on their menu right now is the Italian roast pork sandwich which features some callaloo greens from Margie (at Bee Heaven). It’s like a French dip sandwich, but with fantastic, roasted pork, shaved super thin. It’s served with a provolone cheese and on Sullivan Street bread.

We went to Babes Meat and Counter. I was reading their story in your newsletter. We've also been to Ayesha's Indian restaurant on US1. We've been to Tani Thai and Rumi - their hummus is fabulous. We also go to Sushi Rock. And, my wife cooks a lot in the house, so we're going to Whole Foods and Fresh Market.

For fish, I love Captains Tavern. My favorite is the Hog fish. For a quick lunch, we go to Wagon’s West. It’s like our Cheers – they all know my name. I’ll get a grilled cheese or scrambled eggs. If I want to be really bad - they have the best homemade cherry pie.

We've done Hometown Barbecue take out a bunch. They're awesome. I go to Babes Meat & Counter all the time. There's a great Nikkei-inspired Peruvian place called Itamae. Macchialina on the Beach is always a favorite of ours. Of course, there's A pizza Brooklyn and Ghee. Those are the big hitters. Right now, we're doing some Joe's because the season is here. And my new favorite, which I've done practically every week is the Lazy Oyster. A bunch of guys are doing delivery oysters from all the big spots, Washington, California, Massachusetts, and they are phenomenal. The price is fantastic. They're on Instagram. They shuck them and leave them in the shell. My daughter loves like the oyster water. She'll help me prepare my oyster with mignonette. It's become another ritual. It's so cool - like you guys - people have become creative and resilient in what they've done to adjust to the new reality. We are happy to support these businesses.

Eating House. Get the heirloom tomato and "coconut ice" salad, their beef tartare and never miss a "Dirt Cup" for dessert.
