Please share about what you do for a livelihood or what keeps you busy during the week?
David/Susan – Our family (David’s two beautiful daughters and our two amazing German Shepherds) keep us happily busy during the week. And…exercising and our entrepreneurial careers.
How often do you come to the market?
Every Sunday
Do you have a market ritual? If so, please describe.
We head straight to LNB Groves for our five jars of Turmeric (on average). Then, we stop and get Poke bowls (which we bring home for lunch). If the girls are with us, acai bowls are a must and then we stop and get some home-style BBQ brisket. Before we leave, we pick up two huge bones for our German Shepherds.
What’s your favorite thing to buy at LNB Grovestand and why?
Turmeric Tonic! It’s the miracle juice! We were told by a regular to commit to 8oz a day (which Walt confirmed). At first, we definitely felt our bodies detoxing! Now, as regulars, we drink five to six jars a week between the two of us. We drink it right in the morning, after we exercise, and throughout the day.
What have you made with ingredients bought at LNB Grovestand?
I add the Turmeric dressing to just about anything I am eating. From eggs, to chicken and salads. David has created his own juice concoction with the tonic.
What’s your favorite thing to buy at other stands at the market?
The bones for our pups! I just love how happy it makes them (and how long it keeps them busy).
The best deal at the market is:
LNB
I wish the market had:
A yoga stand filled with yoga clothes, educational tools, and community yoga activities.
Most-frequented local restaurants and what dish to order:
Daily Bread is our almost “daily” ritual. We love having a variety of the food available in the fridge when we don’t feel like cooking. Three Fold – avocado toasts and almond milk lattes, Lokal: burgers and the shrimp tacos!
For special occasions, I go to:
Soho House or Zuma
What’s the area’s best-kept secret?
Old Cutler Road
Rainy-day activity:
We have a cozy covered area outside and love to sit on the sofa with our dogs and watch the rain fall.
The most romantic spot around:
Haven’t found it yet. Any ideas?
A + W: Your outside porch sounds super romantic! We are big fans of the “staycation”. Our favorite is the Royal Blues boutique hotel in Deerfield Beach. All of the rooms face the ocean and the scene is super relaxed. You can listen to the waves crash all night and the decor is simple and elegant.
Do you own your own business or offer a service? Would you share a pitch about yourself or company with the community?
Susan: I’ll take this over – I own a digital marketing agency specializing in healthy lifestyle startups. I also teach yoga around Miami. If anyone is ‘tight’ and looking to incorporate yoga into their lifestyle, please contact me. We can go as little as stretching and as far as chanting in Sanskrit! I create unique classes for each of my students.
Is there a question that you would like to ask the LNBs?
Do you give tours at your farm?
A + W: We would love to invite you all down for a tour. It’s a working farm, so boots and pants are recommended.
